London, 06 October 2011 – Say Communications has been appointed by AFC Energy, the leading developer of low-cost alkaline fuel cell technology, to raise the company’s profile, educate stakeholders and generate positive awareness for alkaline fuel cells – one of the maturest fuel cell technologies - within the energy sector.
AFC Energy, based near Guildford, is focused on enabling low cost electricity generation using its re-engineered low cost proven alkaline fuel cell technology. As a testament to this highly efficient technology the company recently completed the commissioning of its first commercial-scale fuel cell system (the “Beta System”) at its UK premises. Additionally, AFC has recently developed partnerships with Linc Energy, the John Lewis Partnership, and N2telligence GmbH.
AFC Energy’s technology is low-cost, low-temperature, low-pressure and fully-scalable to provide clean electricity on-demand. As it gains momentum across a range of markets including chlor-alkaline, waste-to-energy, clean coal and natural gas, it has the definite potential to be the catalyst which transforms the way in which industries of today produce energy for tomorrow.
“We’re delighted to be partnering AFC Energy,” says joint Managing Director, Louise Stewart-Muir, Say Communications. “With our existing experience in renewable, batteries and fuel cells and oil and gas, AFC is an excellent addition to the Say Cleantech practice. We very much look forward to working with AFC to establish its profile and communicate how low cost fuel cell technology will significantly work towards reducing our carbon footprint.”
Ian Balchin, Director of AFC Energy said, “During the pitch process Say demonstrated their depth and breadth of energy experience and expertise which is clearly a prerequisite for AFC Energy – we needed an agency that could hit the ground running – we’re glad to have them on board and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship.”
