David Yarnton, UK General Manager at Nintendo UK, said: “Nintendo is proud to be in a position to offer our support to what has developed into a truly remarkable cultural event. The Windsor Festival team have worked tirelessly to create an event that gives back to the local community and this is our opportunity to support them in this endeavour. We look forward to developing this partnership further during the months ahead and continuing to promote what our historical town has to offer.”
Martin Denny, Windsor Festival Director, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming on board an internationally recognised company such as Nintendo. They have generously offered us their support and enabled the team to provide an eclectic and entertaining programme to suit all tastes. Based in Windsor themselves, they have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to the local community and I hope the Festival will provide them with a platform to further develop this. We greatly look forward to working with Nintendo throughout the Festival and exploring new avenues of development with them over the coming months.”
The partnership provides additional benefits for audiences at this year’s Festival with the Nintendo team attending both Jazz in the Park with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra on Saturday 17th September and Michael Morpurgo’s talk about his internationally acclaimed novel, War Horse, on Tuesday 27th September. Audiences will get the opportunity to try out Nintendo’s game-changing Nintendo 3DS console and get their hands on the latest games, such as family favourites The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D TM , nintendogs™ + cats and Pilotwings Resort TM.
