Eminox to showcase Active Regeneration Trap at Bauma

19-25 April, Stand 503, Hall 5, New Munich Trade Fair Centre

Gainsborough, 19 April, 2010 – Eminox, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of aftertreatment systems to reduce emissions from diesel engines, today announces the launch of its Active Regeneration Trap (ART) filter technology at BAUMA 2010.

Eminox ART is a full flow burner technology which uses a robust silicon carbide filter housed in a compact modular stainless steel system. Effective filter regeneration is achieved from 150 degrees making the system suitable for a wide range of vehicles and equipment.

The ART technology will have fully automated regeneration via a dynamic Electronic Control Unit. This unit, which is validated to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards, means the system requires no user intervention, has minimal impact on normal vehicle operations and has a low impact on fuel consumption.

The burner hardware has been developed by Eminox using the latest development techniques including computational fluid dynamics. Optimum flow and temperature distribution delivers uniform regeneration and avoids damage to the filter.

As emissions requirements for non-road mobile machinery (NRMM) become more demanding, the use of diesel particulate filters is becoming commonplace. However, exhaust gas temperatures of some NRMM’s are considerably lower than those found in on-road vehicles, and standard DPF technologies cannot regenerate at such low temperatures. Eminox has developed full ART technology to address this problem, having already used assisted regeneration to allow its Fuel Borne Catalyst system to operate at low temperatures. The full flow ART system will be available from mid 2011.

The Eminox non-road team will be available at BAUMA 2010 to present the Eminox ART concept and how it can be integrated with other systems for the reduction of particulate matter, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and oxides of nitrogen. The new product is added to a range of technologies designed to meet the challenging emissions requirements of Stage and Tier legislation.

“Eminox has been designing and developing emissions technology since 1995 and has been supplying exhausts for non-road vehicles and equipment since 1988” comments Kathye Henderson, Marketing Manager, Eminox. “The development of our new active regeneration trap demonstrates our continuous commitment to innovation within this sector and responding to the challenges involved. BAUMA presents us with a great platform to showcase our experience of emissions technologies combined with our extensive applications engineering expertise.”
